New lenses like HYPERINDEX® and HYPERVIEW® 1.66 by Optima are 50% thinner and 50% lighter than conventional (ordinary) plastic lenses. POLARTEC® 1.67 lenses are up to 25% thinner than regular plastic lenses. Computer-engineered lens designs eliminate distortion. New coatings eliminate reflection and improve vision. All these enhancements make eyeglass lenses a welcome alternative for those who thought they had to wear contacts for sports. You'll be amazed at how light, thin, and crystal clear our lenses are. Tintable lens options are also available if you prefer separate lenses with sunglass tints and new POLARTEC 1.67 (Click the button below to read more...) offers the best performance in polarized lenses. A recent study suggests, new progressive lenses might even improve your golf game (see below).

Bifocal lenses with their telltale lines represent "old technology." The lens is made up of basically two viewing areas: the upper area of the lens for distance viewing and the lower area for close-up viewing with a distinct delineation between the two areas. But there are lots of times you need to look at something right in that "middle" area. That is where the visible bifocal line gets in the way and distorts your vision. Like when you're playing golf, putting with your chin way down, and that darn bifocal line just seems to cut that golf ball in half. (Like the illustration shows.) That doesn't happen with a progressive lens.

A progressive lens gives you three fields of view - near, intermediate, and far. The unique aspheric lens design makes the transition between all viewing areas smooth and distortion free as your eyes move behind the lens. It's no wonder an independent study in Golf Digest between bifocal wearers and progressive lens wearers showed noticeable improvement in the golf games of the progressive wearers as compared to current bifocal wearers. And it held true for both wood and iron users. Progressive lenses like Optima's "Natural Sight" HYPERVIEW® 1.66 progressive lenses give you clear, sharp vision in all viewing areas so they don't distort your line of sight. And because they are 50% thinner and 50% lighter they are much more comfortable no matter what sport you play.
